The Miracles Workshop is based in Goodwood and offers sheltered employment to 50 adults with disabilities. The majority of the workshop clients do not have the ability to work in the open labour market but with the workshop they have the opportunity to feel like they are contributing to our country’s economy while earning a wage.
The workshop clients mainly do contracted work in the form of sorting, assembling, packing, and labelling of different products for a Cape Town-based company. Apart from having the opportunity to work, clients are exposed to learning good work ethics, team work, and different life skills.
The Workshop is not all work and no play – workshop clients participate in fun activities such as Casual Day and have the opportunity to go on recreational outings (depending on funding). Recycling of paper and cardboard is done on a small scale and local businesses are encouraged to “donate” their used cardboard boxes and paper to the workshop.
Need a button sewed on or have pants that must be shortened? The Workshop offers a sewing and alteration service to members of the public at very reasonable cost.
“We write to express our gratitude and thanks for work well done and for the more than 20 years of trustworthy and reliable service that you have offered Flexo Line Products.
We hope and trust that we can continue to be of mutual benefit to one another and have no hesitation in recommending your work to prospective customers and the satisfaction it will generate in their dealings with your organization.” V.R. Marziani (Sales Manager)
